Terms of Service

1. Plans and billing

• Upbil is paid-only. There is no free tier, and every account needs an active subscription.
• Two plans are available: $10 per month, or $100 per year. Prices are set in US dollars. The Apple App Store or Google Play charges the equivalent in your local currency, and local taxes may apply.
• Each subscription covers one account for one person. Accounts may not be shared.
• Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Billing runs through the App Store or Google Play using the payment method you have on file with that store.
• You can see every charge, its date, the amount charged and the period it covers in Settings → Purchase history.

2. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from the App Store or Google Play subscription settings. The app links you straight there. Cancelling stops the next renewal. It doesn't refund the current period, and you keep access until that period ends.

3. Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own refund policies. We don't process refunds directly and can't guarantee one. Contact Apple or Google support to request a refund.

• If you delete your account, any subscription amount you have already paid will not be refunded.
• Deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription with Apple or Google. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings first so you aren't charged again.

4. What the app does and doesn't do

• The app provides information and help: it identifies likely recurring charges from the sources you connect, tracks renewals and price changes, and can draft cancellation messages.
• The app never acts for you without your explicit approval. Any message, such as a cancellation email, is sent only after you review and approve it.
• The app doesn't guarantee any saving. Detected subscriptions, price changes and possible savings are estimates, not promises.

5. Accuracy and AI suggestions

Subscription detection is based on probabilities. Every detected subscription has a confidence score, and anything below our threshold needs your confirmation before it counts toward your totals. Check a detection before you rely on it or act on it, especially before cancelling anything.

Some features, including plan suggestions, are generated by AI. AI can sometimes produce information that is inaccurate, out of date or entirely made up. Suggestions are for information only. You are responsible for checking them and for any action you take, such as changing, keeping or cancelling a plan.

6. Acceptable use

• Don't use the app to access accounts, email or financial data that aren't yours.
• Don't reverse engineer, scrape or interfere with the app.
• Don't use the app for anything unlawful.

7. Ending your account

• You can delete your account and all its data at any time from Settings. Deleting your account doesn't refund any amount already paid (see Refunds).
• You can request an export of your data before or after closing your account. Exports are sent only to the email address registered on your account.
• We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, with notice where practical.

8. Limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses from using the app, including relying on a detection, an estimate or a drafted message. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

9. Governing law

To be completed with legal counsel before launch: these Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and disputes are subject to the courts of [jurisdiction].

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll tell you about material changes in the app before they take effect.
